How Does It Work?

It's 8-on-8, 5 men and 3 women on the field at all times. It's no contact, 2-hand touch football. And we keep it exciting for everyone on the team through our four divisions (Players, Sorta-Players, Casual and Extremely Casual) and our “female as a primary player” rule. What's the Cost and What's Included?

Early/regular registration will open July 26th/August 6th and close August 5th/August 20th or earlier if the league sells out. League fees are $1250/$1350 for a team of 15 players ($35 for each additional player over 15 - no limit to number of players on your roster) and $120/$130 for individuals (we'll get everyone on a team). ZogSportsNJ donates a percentage of our profit to charity. 

Fee Includes:

  • 1 Scrimmage and 7 regular season games
  • One head referee/game
  • 50% of the teams will qualify for the heart-wrenching single elimination playoff tournament
  • One t-shirt per person on the roster
  • Field fees
  • Equipment
  • "Prize Money" from our sponsors donated to the winning team's charity of choice
  • League administration
  • Organized Happy Hours at local bars after the games

 

 

When Does It Start and When Are the Games?

The season kicks off mid-September. All teams will play games on Sundays. Your division does not determine when you play. Games start between 7pm and 10pm. 

Where Are We Playing?

All games will take place at JFK Stadium in Hoboken.

What Are the Rules?

This is a fun, recreational touch football league, so we want everyone to play, stay involved and stay safe. The key rules are:

  • 8-on-8, 5 men and 3 women on the field at all times
  • No contact, 2-hand touch
  • A woman must be a Primary Player on a play within 3 consecutive plays
  • Scoring - 6 points for touchdown and your decision for 1 or 2-point conversion. (After the game, the team that has the most fun wins)

Levels of Play
  • Players Division - Think you're a jock? This division will be competitive, but still fun.
  • Sorta Players - Pretty good athletes, maybe played together before, but still social.
  • Casual Division - Played before? Not a bad athlete? This is the happy middle ground.
  • Extremely Casual Division - this is the pure fun division. It's for you if you're looking more for the social than the competition or consider yourself a beginner at the organized game.

ZogSportsNJ will try to accommodate all team and individual player requests for Division, but cannot guarantee all requests. We will not place an individual player more than 1 division (above or below) their original request. In order to create the best possible experience for the whole league ZogSportsNJ will place returning teams in the division we feel most appropriate.
