Philanthropy
| ZogSports is the only social sports organization in New York that offers its members the opportunity to engage in social action as well. We help participants Play For Your Cause through charitable donations to teams’ charities of choice, plan social activities in conjunction with various charities, donate a portion of all proceeds to charity and help you give something back to the community through volunteer opportunities. |
Zog Participants Giving Back Throwing a charity event to raise money for a cause? Fundraising for an upcoming race/walk/bike? ZogSports wants to help you get the word out about your fundraising efforts and help you reach your goals. Send all the information to info@zogsports.org with "Fundraising" in the subject line, and we'll be happy to post it! Click Here to see which Zoggers need your support! |

Play For Your Cause ZogSports encourages each team to select a charity to play for. We ask each captain to designate an officially sanctioned 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization before the end of the season. Instead of prize money, we make charitable contributions to the winning teams' charities of choice. In addition, ZogSports' happy hour partners donate 10-15% of what you eat & drink to Play For Your Cause. |
Play For Your Cause "Build-A-Field Fund" The ZogSports/Play For Your Cause “Build-A-Field" Fund is dedicated to helping build and maintain new recreational sports facilities in the New York-metro area. One of the best ways to emphasize the importance of physical fitness among youth and generate community among adults in an urban environment is through sports. Unfortunately, there is a tremendous shortage of outdoor and indoor recreational space in the New York-Metro area. Through the Build-A-Field Fund, ZogSports/Play for Your Cause will raise money to invest in field/gym development that will benefit the New York community by providing sustainable venues for youth and adults to participate in team sports. We are currently involved in potential projects to build new indoor and outdoor recreational facilities at venues including Pier 40 (the “Peoples’ Pier Proposal”), the Brooklyn Armory (converting the Armory to indoor recreational space), and Riverside Park (the sports field project at 148th Street ). Through our Build a Field Fund we hope to nurture the growth of these projects and leave them as a strong legacy to future generations of active New Yorkers. |
